HERETIC ROUTE HAS ME RUINED BYE THEY ARE MEAN IN THIS ROUTE i personally enjoyed the other route better, but this route is very interesting too. the zealot route was just too good and prolly my fav. edit: okay so i finished the heretic route and honestly i am impressed with how both the routes have more stuff going on that's different from the other. like unlike most games i have played, and trust me i played a lot, i have noticed that the choices here don't just change a line or two. oh no, no, there's actually a lot of effort put into this. not to mention the amazing storyline. overall, one of the best i have played, 10/10.
I was avoiding the heretic route like a plague since i mistakenly assumed the MC would be sassy/bratish/rebellius or smth along those lines (which is totatly okay! its probably just not for me i think), but BOY OH BOY how wrong I was! I'm 100% heretic route! lol im so glad i did a replay since zealot route was a bit hard for me to ge into (probably because I have a hard time roleplaying 'faith' lmao)

>SPOILER AHEAD!! . . I'm not sure if this will happen latter at the zealot route when MC actually sleeps with the man but hooooooolly hell that was INTENSE! I'm in unbound more, leaning more towards Valdrich but was a bit unsure BUT LIKE???? I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER AT ALL??? AND IT WAS SO GOOD???!!!! I thought " oh well, they gon do it and then it'll get boring" but HELL NAH.IT GOT SO MUCH BETTER! That scene?? With Valdrich trying to strangle/kill MC??THE ANGST?? Ufffff got me RIGHT in my feelings. My MC was so scared, confused, and feeling betrayed that I was just bawling my eyes out at that point. In fiction I always gravite towards characters like Valdrich because they may be so damn toxic in real life terms, BUT they make for SUCH great delicious ANGST material, its not even funny. ❤️😩 And you're NAILING it with the writing!! (I'm glad we got the option to not forgive him right away, and I'm looking foward to see the man on his KNEES when he realizes MC lost her trust in him)

I just had this exact same experience! I was recommended the game by a friend, started playing, I thought by "zealot" she was going to be an extreme cultist and I was down for that but she's not, she's a normal religious lady with religious woes which was a turn off. That is no offense meant to the writing, the character or people that enjoy her, it's me that's turned off by and doesn't understand or relate to that kind of faith. I went back and tried the heretic route and I was afraid she'd be annoying or the stereotypical "bad*ss woman", but she isn't either of those things in the slightest. She's charming and I ended up really liking her. I prefer romances where I can understand why they fall in love with the MC so I want to at least like the MC myself or it never clicks, but the game instantly clicked for me with the heretic route and now I love it. Cue the Danny Devito "I get it now" meme.
Like you I'm hoping she can withdraw until there's a talk with Valdricht after all that chaos. The woman has PTSD and he didn't know she did when it happened but it makes sense she would need some space. It also made sense when he told her why he did it and how it reminded him of a person similar to her torturers, but the drama is awesome and I want to prolong it. It's karma for all the teasing at the beginning, the least she can do is make it the teensiest bit harder to fall back into her good graces.
It's great to have both protag options because I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the game otherwise. Props to the creator, I know it's extra work but I think it pays off!
i have played tons of otome games but this? oh dear this has me hooked! the storyline is so jaw dropping that i can't help but keep reading and reading to know more. everything is so well written it's actually crazy.
